FIA Region I is the European bureau of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and represents a large network of mobility and automobile clubs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The organisation supports its member clubs in strengthening their impact on mobility, road safety, sustainability and member services. Operating in a rapidly changing mobility landscape, FIA Region I plays a key role in enabling its network to innovate, collaborate and future-proof their services and business models.

FIA Region I aimed to further strengthen the innovation capabilities across its network of clubs. While many clubs are active in new initiatives, the challenge was to:

  • Create a shared understanding of what it means to be “innovation-ready”
  • Translate strategy into practical innovation capabilities
  • Help clubs organise for innovation (culture, governance, portfolio management)
  • Stimulate peer learning and cross-club collaboration
  • Turn ideas into tangible next steps
  • Sharpened and validated propositions with the help of AI

The objective was not just inspiration, but practical activation: equipping participants with tools, frameworks and confidence to bring innovation into everyday work.

RevelX designed and facilitated a two-day Innovation Workshop 2025 in Brussels, combining strategic reflection with hands-on application.

The programme included:

  1. Defining the innovation-ready organisation
    We embedded interactive sessions around the foundations of innovation readiness: strategy alignment, leadership, culture, capabilities and governance. Participants reflected on their own club context, supported by insights and best practices from across the network.
  2. Rapid Innovation Challenge
    A key highlight was the Rapid Innovation Challenge. Selected club ideas were explored in focused working sessions using leading (AI) innovation tools and structured frameworks. In small groups, participants moved from idea to sharper value propositions, clearer problem statements and initial execution pathways, all within a compact, high-energy format.
  3. Organising for innovation
    Through peer discussions and structured exercises, clubs explored how to organise innovation in practice:

    • Embedding innovation in strategy
    • Building the right capabilities
    • Managing innovation portfolios
    • Creating the right balance between exploration and operational excellence
  4. Case-based peer learning
    The workshop concluded with case studies from within the network, showcasing concrete examples of how innovation can be embedded in daily operations. This reinforced practical learning and stimulated cross-club exchange.
    Throughout the two days, RevelX acted as facilitator, challenger and connector, ensuring both strategic depth and actionable outcomes.

The Innovation Workshop 2025 delivered both inspiration and practical progress:

  • A shared language and framework for innovation across participating clubs
  • Sharpened innovation ideas through the AI supported Rapid Innovation Challenge
  • Increased clarity on how to organise and govern innovation
  • Stronger cross-network connections and peer learning
  • Concrete next steps for embedding innovation into daily work

Participants left with renewed energy, practical tools and actionable insights to strengthen their club’s innovation capacity.

The workshop marked an important step in building a more innovation, ready and future, oriented FIA Region I network, turning collaboration into capability and ideas into action.
