Now that I have been working at RevelX for a year, I was asked to look back and share my experiences. My first year was filled with growth strategy, business model innovation and experimenting with AI. For this reflection I decided not to sit behind my laptop, but to join InterviewGPT, a prompt that we also use with clients. In this conversation I share what I have learned, what I am proud of, and which developments will become important for our work and our clients in the coming years.
InterviewGPT: How did your first year at RevelX feel?
Jason: From the very beginning I had the opportunity to join a variety of projects. I was immediately involved in challenging assignments with interesting, serious clients, from strategy to innovation. What I find remarkable is that we work very autonomously, but because the team is small and close-knit it never feels distant. There is plenty of room to learn and to have fun, but always with a strong focus on results. That energizes me.
InterviewGPT: What are you most proud of?
Jason: That I was able to learn a lot in a short time and at the same time add value. From building growth strategies to contributing to new business models. We also developed an AI tool, which is scheduled to go live soon. For me that is a great example of how we not only design strategy but also make it tangible straight away.
InterviewGPT: Which skill did you develop the most in your first year?
Jason: I have learned to look at companies with an even sharper eye. What exactly do you offer, how do you differentiate from competitors, where in the chain is the most value created and what does it ultimately deliver? That process is always experienced together with people, but there is also a business reality underneath. It is precisely the combination of those two worlds that makes it interesting. I also notice that the cooperation between our experienced consultants and younger colleagues creates exactly that good dynamic: it brings energy, sharpness and a fresh perspective.

InterviewGPT: What did you learn about growth strategy and business model innovation in practice?
Jason: I see that choices only really gain strength when you combine them with the first steps towards execution. That can be a new business model or a pilot that helps you learn and move forward. Strategy only really works when you also start doing. That pragmatism, that drive to make things work, is what distinguishes us at RevelX.
InterviewGPT: AI also played a role for you this year. How do you look at it?
Jason: We are in the middle of AI development. For me AI feels like a tool that makes you more productive, improves the quality of your output and creates space for new propositions. But the real knowledge and interpretation remain with yourself. That is important to me. At RevelX I get the opportunity to deepen that knowledge and immediately put it into practice.
InterviewGPT: What do you see as the major drivers that will affect companies in the coming years?
Jason: Of course, AI, but also geopolitical shifts and changing market dynamics. Companies are forced to reconsider their markets and portfolios, and that is not something you can postpone. If you do not make clear choices now, the playing field will only become more constrained and your position can be seriously endangered. It requires not only analysis, but above all decisiveness and courage to actually make those choices.
Looking Ahead
I look back with great satisfaction, but even more I look ahead. In the coming period I want to further develop my knowledge and skills around AI. On the one hand by continuing to learn and experiment internally, on the other hand by helping clients to use AI as a growth engine. In addition, I want to continue guiding companies in their growth choices and keep following my curiosity into new tools, ideas and business models. For me that is the magic of strategy: not only thinking but also doing.
