Established in 2017, Toelevering Online is a rapidly growing scale-up under Nijhuis Bouw, offering an online platform with a visual configurator that enables fast delivery of custom-made window frames. With a delivery time of only five days, the company quickly established itself as a disruptor in the industry.

The platform primarily serves professionals such as self-employed contractors, small builders, and construction companies, while private customers are also able to order. Toelevering Online is active in both the Netherlands and Belgium and has recently expanded into Germany.

The rapid growth brings both challenges and opportunities. To anticipate industry shifts and sustain growth, a dedicated innovation team continuously scouts new ideas, validates solutions in the market, tracks trends, and engages with stakeholders.

While innovation activities were already taking place, Toelevering Online wanted more structure and clarity on how to professionalize its efforts. The aim of assignment was to share best practices across different aspects of the innovation operating model and identify key areas for improvement. The focus was on the innovation process, the organization of innovation and its governance.

RevelX facilitated a one-day working session with the innovation team. The session included:

  • Reflection on the motivation to innovate and the role of innovation within Toelevering Online’s growth ambitions

  • Clear view on strengths and areas for improvement in the current innovation practice
  • Initial elements for a more structured and tailored innovation process
  • Next steps to professionalize innovation, focusing on specific parts of the operating model such as strategic alignment, organizational embedding and governance
